Information for our Retired Brothers
Welcome to all of our retired Brothers. This site is not only designed for the current members of Local 1557, but for all of our brothers and sisters, retired and current. Hopefully our retired brothers will find this site as an easy way to stay connected to not only other retirees, but to everyone.
Some of the features you may find useful are the phone list to stay connected, member directory, classified ads section to post items for sale, and updates as to what is going on in Local 1557. I can also post any information, either items of interest, articles, newsletters, or pictures - whatever you would liket to see.
To get started, you need to register. In the upper right hand corner of the home page, you will see an area to either log in or register. Simply click on register. This will bring you to a form page. Fill out the form page and submit it. It will be sent to me. After I confirm that the person who wants to register is either a current or retired member, I activate them as a user. You will then be sent an email stating that you have been activated. Please remember the unique user name and password that you have created. The confirmation process needs to happen because I cannot allow the general public to have access to contracts, meeting minutes, phone numbers and addresses of our members, etc. That is all their is to it.
Another feature is the ability to have an email address through this site. I can set up an email which will look like this - email@example.com That is mine. Yours would be first initial last name @ sterlingheightsfirefighters.org. You can use this email or you can simply forward this email to whichever email you currently use. I do this so I don't have to keep up with everyone's ever changing email address. With this system, if you change your email address, simply log on to this one and re-forward it to your new one. Forwarding is as simple as filling in a box with your email address and clicking ok. You don't have to enter pop3 and mail. addresses. Very simple. This is the main form of communication for our membership now.
If you have questions, please contact me. I will be happy to help you with anything. Solidarity!
